An ideal, a germ
Many people have asked me why I chose to become a lawyer.
Most of the post-80s grew up watching TVB, and when I was in the first grade of primary school, a “No. 1 Emperor Court” had a huge impact on me, the female lawyer’s independence, strong confidence deeply attracted me. My classmates are saying that I want to be a policeman or a scientist when I grow up, but my dream is to be a lawyer. Although he majored in science in high school, he chose the College of Political Science and Law as his first choice for the college entrance exam.
When I entered the university, some friends said that I was not suitable to be a lawyer because I majored in science, because I was introverted and slow, and because I had a low voice.
However, the counselor told me that these are nothing to mention. My scientific thinking can make my logic more rigorous, and my introverted character can allow me to study the case quietly. In court sessions, there is always a microphone. I learned a lot from this conversation with my classmates and counselors.
During the seven years of study in the School of Political Science and Law, I practiced in many positions related to law, such as courts, procuratorates, corporate legal departments, etc., which strengthened my determination to be a lawyer.
Law, beauty
In 2010, when I was still preparing for my graduation thesis, I had the honor to join Shanghai Zhonghua Law Firm, becoming a member of this dynamic, united and harmonious team, and started my internship. I got too much care and help for the transition from theory to practice. Although there is a “to cross the Yellow River ice jam, will climb the Taihang snow mountain” difficulties, but can not stop my love for this occupation, because of love, so persistent.
I have also been a lawyer for nearly ten years now. In other people’s eyes, I was far from the usual definition of a successful lawyer. I am a very Buddhist lawyer, and my cases are basically introduced by my family, friends and old clients. However, this does not mean that I will be a “Buddhist” to handle cases. Lawyers are a lifelong learning profession, not only because there are new laws every year, but also because every case may involve a new industry, and the research and understanding of these industries is also very important.
Several years ago, I acted for A auto show Company to Sue B Auto Show Company. Because of our evidence defects, the opposing lawyer completely denied it in court. After careful agency opinions, the court adopted our evidence chain. Last year, the Auto show company of B came to me, because I felt my understanding of the auto show industry and my seriousness and responsibility in the case several years ago. I hope to represent the auto show company of B in a very uncertain case. The process of researching the case and preparing evidence is very difficult, of course, we also won the case. This incident made me understand that all efforts will not be in vain. In addition to the results of the case itself, it will also bring unexpected gains. Toward the moon, even if not reach, you will fall into the hands of the stars.
Until now, I have never regretted my choice to become a lawyer. Many people ask me why I like to be a lawyer. I have thought about it for a while, and I think there are several aspects:
First, law and evidence are the yardsticks to judge right and wrong. Although in society you and I may be insignificant screws or wet behind the ears, in the courtroom, there is plenty of evidence, rigorous argument, can still make the industry bigwigs upset in the wind.
Second, the profession of law is full of novelty and challenge. No two cases are exactly the same, so every case I come into contact with, every day’s work is different, there is no mechanical repetition.
Third, the profession of lawyer gives people a strong sense of mission. Although each case is just one out of tens of thousands of cases, it is a job, but for the person involved, it may be about his whole life, his whole family, and the whole company. Not being a Wonder Woman, you can also feel the powerful sense of mission from your career.
Fourth, the lawyer industry is a labor effort and salary return is absolutely proportional to the industry. Busy, naturally high income, less work to get less money.
Fifth, relative to other occupations, time control is much higher freedom. I can take the kids to school every morning, enjoy the cinema alone occasionally, avoid the holiday rush to go out and see the beautiful world… This allows me to devote more time to myself and my family without giving up my career.
I don’t know where I’m going, but I can’t stop writing. Maybe this is my love and unregret for this career. I am not a successful lawyer, but I am glad to be approaching 40 and have reached my most satisfying life.
I hope everyone can do what they like to do, and calmly live the life they want.
